FBI Releases Serial Killer's Notes - Fox44abc22yourvoice

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

The FBI in Alaska has released the writings found in the jail cell of Israel Keyes, the man who confessed to killing an Essex, Vt., couple.

Keyes, 34, was found dead in his cell on December 2, 1012. He was set for a March trial in federal court in the abduction and killing of Anchorage coffee-cart worker Samantha Koenig. Before he died, he confessed to the killings of at least seven others across the country, including Bill and Lorraine Currier of Essex, Vt., in June 2011.

In a release sent out Wednesday, the FBI said the writings, which were found in Keyes cell on Dec. 2, were sent to a lab in Virginia for processing. No hidden code or message was found in the writings, according to the FBI.

The FBI also said the notes did not offer up any leads or clues as to other possible victims.

The FBI says it continues to work with state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the country to identify other victims of Keyes.
